Update on Harry Angel. Kirby didn’t know leg was caught, thought the only issue was an iron. Starter took que from Kirby. Only people who might have known going by the footage are the assistant starters. Horrible luck all around.

That starter screwed up. Watched the Racing UK vid you can see the assistant starters rushing to open the back only to have the front open on them.

Dang Harry Angel had one leg caught on the boards. No wonder he broke so badly. Glad all it was just a bad break that could have ended a lot worse.

Older link from when he broke his maiden but this tells the story of Arthur Kitt

I am full on crying over the Arthur Kitt story

Well there’s something you don’t here ever day. Cliffs of Moher is running for the second time in the same Royal Ascot meet

There’s a name I hadn’t thought of in years, Carbon Dating. He ran in the Epsom Derby back in 2015.

Anyone know who usually leads the horses in to the winners circle here in the US for the big races? Four straight early mornings is getting to me and I want to make a comment possibly but I don’t want to be off basis…

Yeah it’s very usually the groom … often for the big races they’ll pass the horse off to an owner, but if the horse is a nutcase, they’ll off keep at least one lead shank on too. Kind of depends on the situation. But it’s quite often the groom, sometimes the owner.

Thanks.

Sometimes I wonder who the ads on NBCSN are for some of it’s obvious and other times not so much.
