Undefeated Justify is the 13th Triple Crown Winner!
Only the second undefeated Triple Crown victor in history, Justify helps Bob Baffert also become only the second trainer to win the Triple Crown twice. Mike Smith was the winning jockey, and it was his third winning ride in the Belmont Stakes.
European invader Gronkowski was second. Hofburg was third. Vino Rosso was fourth.
Beginning his career in February Justify went on to become the first horse since Apollo in 1882 to win the Kentucky Derby without having raced at two. It was the rainiest Kentucky Derby on record. He won a muddy and foggy Preakness Stakes at Pimlico, and now on a Sunny day at Belmont Park – after six straight winning races – Justify can finally take some time off after taking home the Triple Crown.
